"I will make them famous"
John McCain, in his acceptance speech tonight:
I've fought the big spenders in both parties, who waste your money on things you neither need nor want, and the first big-spending pork-barrel earmark bill that comes across my desk, I will veto it. I will make them famous, and you will know their names. You will know their names.I guess one of the ways to make them famous is to choose them to be your running mate:
Three times in recent years, McCain's catalogs of "objectionable" spending have included earmarks for this small Alaska town, requested by its mayor at the time -- Sarah Palin. We definitely know her name now. Mission accomplished, right John?

Over at VC, Jim Lindgren has analyzed the Obama and Palin speeches, and he argues that Obama's speech contained significantly more negative attacks than Palins. This is consistent with my reaction, although I was too lazy to do a side by side comparison.
I am curious as to your response.
mls,
I'm hoping to post something on the speech this morning that addresses that issue.
Isn't it wild!
The Republican campaign is so rife with contradictions and hypocrisy that only one thing is clear: Their strategy is to confuse. That's why we must respond with succinct clarity.
Thanks!
