Chutzpah, Thy Name is John McCain

John McCain put a new ad out today attacking Barack Obama on taxes. It begins with a narrator intoning: “Celebrities don’t have to worry about family budgets, but we sure do.”

We? Really? This coming from a guy who, just the day before, couldn't remember how many houses he owned. Maybe he's referring to his budget for household servants, "which went from 184,000 in 2006 to $273,000 in 2007, according to John McCain’s tax returns."

And of course it wouldn't be a Republican ad if it didn't end with a massive lie. The narrator says "Obama's ready to raise your taxes, but is he ready to lead?" According to the Brookings Institute analysis of the candidate's tax plans, not only would Obama lower taxes for the vast majority of people, he would do so more than John McCain.

Then again, maybe the ad is directed at the small minority of people who, like John McCain, are so obscenely wealthy that they have to ask their staff how many homes they own. If so, then the ad is correct, Obama is ready to raise their taxes.
Digg!

That "Budget For Household Servants" ad... the Obama camp has gotta be ready to launch that by now, no? That would hit even harder and expose McEveryman's status even more.

Did his budget go up because he added more people?
Or did he add existing people so he would not have that messy problem of
Ooops, I forgot to pay taxes, social security etc on the nanny-type- of-problem?????
I bet the press does not even question this.

This whole incident leaves me with the knowledge that, in the coming months, McCain promises to expose me to the dismal depths to which human hypocrisy can sink.
