Is Fitzgerald Finalizing Indictments?
There were a lot of articles written today on the CIA leak investigation, but they're all pretty much the same. They report that Rove testified for over 4 hours today and then rehash a lot of old news. The Los Angeles Times version, however, includes this tantalizing little nugget of information:
If I had to guess, I'd guess that Fitzgerald is currently finalizing one or more indictments, and that he'll present them to the grand jury next week, most likely on Wednesday. Stay tuned.
With the grand jury that Fitzgerald has been
using set to expire in two weeks, there is a
growing belief that the prosecutor will
announce his findings soon, rather than
extend the term of the panel. Some people
close to the case said they have been recently
asked questions by Fitzgerald ' s office that
suggest he is fact-checking a document,
although the nature of the document is
unclear. The prosecutor could be preparing
indictments -- or a report detailing why he
sees no grounds to bring charges. The same
people who have been asked for information
say that Fitzgerald set today as a deadline for
responding to at least some questions.
If I had to guess, I'd guess that Fitzgerald is currently finalizing one or more indictments, and that he'll present them to the grand jury next week, most likely on Wednesday. Stay tuned.

Fitz and DOJ now work for CIA, if you check the news. He passed on indicting Plame who is the only person that really leaked with intent.
Dems are already getting everything in writing saying DOJ chose not tp prosecute Plame and the future of oeverseas opeartions is now firmly in the hands of CIA(covert Jose-leaking him or her should be fun), whether its DOJ or Pentagon

Bob,
I wouldn't be so certain, if I were you. Based on what's already known, the leakers have Violated Title 18, Sections 793 and 794. The only question in my mind, is Fitzgerald the man I think he is, or is this a white wash?
If you read the statutes, based on what has been said, 793 has clearly been violated and there is strong evidence to indict under 794 as well.
Another thing that "Bob" said that bothered me (actually everything he said was offensive) was this business of Fitzgerald and the DOJ working for CIA. It's become apparent in numerous situations that the CIA (at least the analysts) were warring against the Administration.
In one of Libby's conversation with Miller, he is slamming the CIA for "hedging" their bets on the WMD Intel and he was pissed about those efforts.
Personally, I do buy the CIA vs White House story of conflict between them. WHIG (White House Iraq Group) tried to lay the blame for the faulty intel on CIA's doorstep. To a degree they succeeded. Now, if you had your arm twisted to support a particular view you didn't agree with and then were blamed when that view was wrong--wouldn't you go to war against those who had done the twisting?
I know that I would. There's an old proverb that applies:
"Revenge is a dish best served cold".
